PostgreSQL
Query any Postgres database.
MCPDataConnection string you provideNot shipped yet
Not in the app yet. The reference Postgres server is no longer maintained, so this waits for a first-party one — or for Gantry to ship its own. Everything below is what it will do when it lands. Meanwhile you can add any MCP server yourself under Settings → Connectors, and saying you want this one moves it up the list.
Point it at a connection string and the agent can explore the schema and run queries. Read-only by default; writes are a separate, explicit setting.
What it can do
Examples of the tools the agent gets from this connector. Each call shows up in the activity feed with its input and result.
- postgresql
list_schemas - postgresql
describe_table orders - postgresql
query select … - postgresql
explain analyze …
How it connects
- Sign-in
- Connection string you provide. You enter a connection string in the connector's settings. It is stored encrypted with the key in your OS keychain.
- Runs as
- MCP server run locally on your machine. An MCP server that runs as a local process on the Node or Python you already have. Gantry checks the runtime is present before installing.
- Permissions
- Reads run in every mode. Writes outside your folders, messages and anything destructive follow the chat's permission mode: they ask in Manual and Auto-edit, and are judged by the guard model in Auto. How permissions work
How it will install
- 1
Open Connectors in the sidebar. The catalog ships with the app; nothing is downloaded until you ask.
- 2
Find PostgreSQL and choose Install. Enter the connection string when asked.
- 3
Attach it to a chat, or leave it available to every chat in a project. The agent sees its tools from then on.
